repair是什么意思（从pair学到饮湖上初晴后雨，从preant学到诋毁，这样学英语很快乐）

今天要学的词根是par，par=pair（一双一对，比较这个词就用一双来解释，因为单独是不能比较的，比较都要2个及2个以上）。

后来又去查了俞敏洪的词根词缀字典par还=to get ready 准备=to bear表示“生、产“”=to appear=to come in sight，就是出现看见的意思。

1、 comparison，名词：比较、相提并论。

说这个词先说一下它的同源词：pair是一双一对的意思，两个人放在一起才是一对，你和你爱人一定是门当户对的，是平等的（equal）。

comparison =com共同+par相等+ison名词后缀=一对璧人经常会拿来比较，婚前，父母总要把你们放在一起看看是否合适=名词：比较，相提并论。

Before marriage, parents always put you together to see if it's a good fit。

2、 compare=com一起+par相等+e=一起相等e=不比较怎么知道是相等的？所以compare是比较的意思。

动词：比较、比喻的意思。

新婚夫妻总拿来被比较。

Newlyweds are always compared

把相等的东西放在一起比较。

3、 compare的形容词——comparable=可以比较的。

比较容易读错，重音在第一个字节上，大家跟读两遍：comparable、comparable。

3个短语帮助记忆

当Par=准备的时候

Apparatus 名词：设备

Prepare 动词：准备的意思。

当par=出现、看见的时候

Apparent=ap一再+par看见+ent形容词后缀=一再看见的形容词=显而易见的。

Apparel=ap+出现+el表物=一再出现的东西，比如穿出来的衣服=衣服、外观。

Transparent=trans传+par出现+ent形容词后缀=穿越的出现是透明的。

或者直接记trans传越，越过+prent父母=越过父母，把父母当透明的了，你真厉害，但有些事，父母真不懂，长大以后，不必事事都按父母的要求来，前提是你得是个明白人。

超越父母的人是明白人。

transparent=透明的、明白的。

当par=相等的意思的时候。

Parity=名词：相等。

Imparity=im表否定+par相等=名词：不平等。

Why does imparity ground treat the child?

Disparate=dis否定+par相等=不相等adj。

Disparage=dis+par+age年龄（age其实是一个名词词尾）=不相等的年龄=使不相等=贬低。
